Thomas M. Maddox, MD, MSc
Tom Maddox is the inaugural director of the Healthcare Innovation Lab at BJC HealthCare and the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. He is also a practicing cardiologist, a professor of medicine (cardiology) at the Washington University School of Medicine, and a health services researcher.
Tom’s research interests have focused on learning healthcare systems, which use real-time clinical data to inform high-value cardiology practice and research, and healthcare delivery innovation to achieve high-quality healthcare and outcomes. He has authored over 180 peer-reviewed publications, received multiple grants exploring optimal cardiac care and outcomes, and holds national leadership positions in the American College of Cardiology and the American Heart Association.
Tom lives in University City with his wife and son. He enjoys exploring the outdoor activities in the St. Louis area by foot and bike, discovering new restaurants, and getting lost in the City Museum catacombs.
