Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) delivers oxygen to those facing impending death from heart and lung failure. It is a “last resort” therapy because it is associated with a high risk of life-threatening complications. The goal of this project was to develop a predictive model that supports clinical decision-making for COVID-19 pediatric patients.
The team set out to identify variables associated with the need for ECMO in COVID-19 pediatric patients. They developed and validated a machine learning model to predict the need for ECMO intervention in these patients.
The final report for this project is not complete, so please check back at a later time for more information about the outcomes of this project.
