Our innovation ecosystem includes regional and national entities that create an active flow of information for transforming new ideas into reality. Our affiliates include universities, governments, corporations, startup accelerators, venture capitalists, foundations, and entrepreneurs. Through this ecosystem, we are building a resource by which we can develop and test solutions to solve problems faster.

  • Missouri Technology Seed Capital Co-Investment Program

    The Missouri SEED Capital Co-Investment program was created to support Missouri's early-stage entrepreneurs in developing technologies and creating jobs across Missouri while positioning companies for future venture capital investment. The SEED fund supports technology startups through matching equity or convertible debt investments up to $500,000 for the purpose of technology and business development.

  • Center for Emerging Technologies

    Founded in 1998, the Center for Emerging Technologies (CET) is the largest and oldest Innovation Center in Missouri. CET is nationally recognized for providing the infrastructure and resources needed for early-stage, high-growth companies in the fields of information technology, bioscience, and consumer/manufactures products to innovate and thrive. An affiliate of the Cortex Innovation Community since 2012, CET fills an important program role in the Cortex district and broader St. Louis region.

    Since 2001, St. Louis nonprofit BioSTL has laid the foundation for the region's innovation economy with a comprehensive set of transformational programs that elevate St. Louis’ leadership in solving important world challenges in agriculture, medicine, health care, and other technology areas. BioSTL has introduced nationally-acclaimed initiatives in startup creation and investment (BioGenerator), strategic business attraction (GlobalSTL), physical environment (including the Cortex Innovation District and BioGenerator Labs), entrepreneur support, seed and venture capital, a diverse and inclusive workforce, and public policy.

    Cultivation Capital’s healthcare and life sciences team has invested in early-stage life sciences companies, primarily in the therapeutics, diagnostics, research tools and reagents, medical devices, and healthcare information technology verticals. We are actively investing in digital health technologies in remote care, hospital efficiency, supply chain, clinical research, and other long term gaps that were identified as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Our sweet spot is providing post-seed/pre-Series A stage companies the capital they need to rapidly scale their businesses. Our initial investment ranges from $250,000 – $1,000,000, with opportunities for follow-on investment.

    To create more home-grown, high-tech companies, Missouri must support entrepreneurs and foster innovation. It is for this reason that the Missouri Building Entrepreneurial Capacity program (MOBEC) is a cornerstone of the investment strategy for the Missouri Technology Corporation (MTC). Through the MOBEC grant program, MTC makes strategic investments that expand the support system for entrepreneurs that are commercializing new technologies or that enhance the capacity of Missouri to grow its innovation economy.
